Hello ladies and gentlemen and future perfectionists, how are ya’ll? What brings you here can be two things:
- 1. You are looking forward to become a “Perfect perfectionist” and the title of the blog has attracted you.
- 2. You
are a friend or a relative who was sent this link by ‘yours-truly’ so that I
can get some viewership.
In any case, I am going
to give a life lesson on how to become your perfect self. Well, I may or may
not be trained for the same but some free non-med advice is always handy. Let
me start by telling you a story.
As many of you know or
many may not know I am lawyer and therefore, I did have to hustle my way
through law school for 5 years and go through all the crazy ups and downs that
come along with it as a package deal. Now, I had this thing engrained in me
that no matter what I want to reach my class on time, complete my assignments
before due date, give the best presentation in class, become my teacher’s pet
and make super smart friends. I was looking for perfection in every way. But in
reality I was only striving harder and harder and beating myself up if I did
not reach my goals (which in many cases I did not).
Another tale I would like
to share is about my body weight and looks in general. I have been on the
chubbier side since I was a teenager and was called a bundle load of adjectives.
Also, I had a unibrow and wore glasses. All these amazing things threw my
confidence down the drain and made me feel like a total loser every time I tried
to lose weight. I would skip shopping for clothes as it gave me anxiety, which it
still does sometimes, and would keep saying stupid things like “when I will
lose weight I will get my eye brows done” and “when I will lose weight I will
shop my favorite clothes” *facepalm*. I
thought I needed perfection in my diet and exercise routine. Yet again I
strived hard punishing myself and as you all know that diets always fail. If I binged
and cried the whole night if someone called my ‘fat’ or if I missed a workout.
And what exactly did I
get out of trying to become perfect? A lot of pain and negative self-talking is
all I achieved. If my assignment had a single red mark, if my grades were low
and if my dress did not fit I would through tantrums like it was the end of the
world. You see this is the perfection everyone is running after.
What is the final
solution to all this? We are all always told that ‘no one is perfect and only
God is perfect’. Etc,etc. The truth is YOU ARE PERFECT!
How you may ask? Remember,
the creation of the Almighty Authority never has any flaws, look closely to
anything that is naturally conceived onto the planet. You will not see anything
that is flawed. Why do you consider yourself as an imperfect being then? You
are perfect even if your jeans do not fit or your grades are low or your family
thinks you are a rent-free pain in the arse. The thing is you need to keep
trying and give your best. What you do with all your heart and soul will never
go in vain. Phew! That was a hard topic, but very close to heart <3.
